What Do I Believe?
ABOUT GOD
I believe God is the Creator and Sustainer of all! Indeed, He is good and loving---ever present, all knowing, and all powerful! "Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created." God has always existed in three persons--the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. While each member of the Godhead has a distinct role, they have the same attributes and nature and operate in complete unity. Each is worthy of our praise and adoration!
ABOUT JESUS
He is the Son of God who has eternally existed. "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God..." Conceived miraculously, He took on human flesh and lived without sin--fully as a man and fully as God! He willingly became our perfect sacrifice--taking our sins upon His body and dying upon the cross. He arose three days later conquering the power of sin and death for all who put their faith in Him alone. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." And He ever lives to intercede for us at the right hand of the Father. We await the day He will return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
He is the promised Comforter who points and guides us to perfect truth! "I will ask the Father to send you another Helper, the Spirit of truth,who will remain constantly with you." He woos us to the Father, convicts us of sin, equips and empowers, permanently indwells believers from the point of salvation, and gives spiritual gifts that believers may serve God faithfully...
ABOUT THE SCRIPTURE
The Bible is God's love letter to us! And all sixty-six books of the Bible are without error. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
When questioned years ago, my spiritual mentor was asked to impart some wisdom about God. I will ever love her response! Yes, Lee Seay simply said, "My God is....! Oh, friends, do you know Him? Yes, He is the answer to the deepest longing of your heart!
